I have struggled with our front entrance for the past 2 years. It’s the place that welcomes you when you enter the home, some would say its your ‘first impression’ to our space. Although we painted the door, added some hooks and a bench for shoes, it didn’t feel like the rest of our house.

Schlage had the perfect solution for our home. We decided to go with a Smart Lock, Encoded Lock because you can access the lock from your smartphone or by using a code. It has built-in WiFi allows you to lock/unlock from anywhere.
The nice thing about installing the handle, is that Schlage has a step by step interactive app that walks you through installation as well as links you directly to videos to those of us that love a visual explanation of how to change your hardware. Once it is installed, it prompts you to create an exclusive code for your front door, or you can use one of the provided ones from when you program it. Plus you can set up to 100 access codes for friends and family that can be paired with the Schlage Home app. This was the perfect feature for me to be able to feel that our home was safe even when we weren’t home.
The last thing we decided to do was change out our back deck door as well as our garage door access to Schlage handles so that we have the same look and safety feature throughout our home. If you order online you can ask for a special request to have the locks universally match so one key for all the doors the same or you can easily get a locksmith to change that for you once installed.
I am beyond thrilled to finally feel safe in our home and, heck they look great too!
